Cowrite option will attempt to pair your ideas with competent songwriters to complete the work. This is the only option that allows for royalty split for the song composition, but as a result the actual production and preproduction costs will be less than contracting for an outright composition. There is no obligation on the part of the applicant to receive a free quotation for the required music/lyrics. Any musical ideas submitted by composers.ca remain the property of composers.ca under Canadian and International copyright law until a valid contract has been entered transferring the copyright to the applicant. Using this service may help to give incomplete works the impetus they need to become finished products.

Once this information is received, you will receive a free quotation for the creation or location of the material you require. If the music is to be an original composition, you will receive a bid to prepare 3 song demos and a further bid to create the master recording. You will be assigned a personal production assistant you will guide you through the production process. Please indicate your preferred method of working:

low budget : most of the artists contribution will be done using existing equiptment in the home with little outsourcing
medium budget: local facilites will be utilized for important production processes such as recording existing bands, instrumental solos etc.including the usage of local recording studios, mastering labs etc..

budget is not a consideration: music recording and local musicians and production staff to undertake local production requirements
 Note that these additional budget considerations only apply to the portion of the work that will be supplied by applicant including any contributions applicant makes in the form of music, vocal or ensemble performance toward the final version.

Pleaes allow 7-10 working days from the time of your form submission for a proper quotation to be sent to you by email. At that time, you will receive detailed information explaining the next steps in the program and allow you to budget the entire project before beginning. It also allows you to proceed in stages to assure that each stage meets your approval before the final product is submitted for mastering.
