.Thank you for visiting the Composers.ca website and for reviewing our privacy policy.  Composers.com is committed to providing an informative website for songwriters, composers, musicians and music lovers. We are dedicated to safeguarding all personal information collected online and do not disclose, give, sell or transfer any personal information about Composers.ca visitors unless required for law enforcement or otherwise required by law.
This privacy notice governs the collection and use of information at composers.ca.  As we continue to offer our visitors new and different types of content and services, we may modify our practices from time to time.
Membership is free whenever a signup option is available.  There is no charge or any fees associated to join, visit our site, watch videos, enter contests or participate in any activities on composers.ca.

Use of Information

What Information Is Collected?

Personally Identifiable Information
You may use this site without registering. You may also register and voluntarily provide personally identifiable information (PII) such as your first name, initial, city, age and email address.  We collect the above information directly as we only receive information that has been actively entered when prompted.  In order to participate in contests, challenges or build levels, we require the visitors to activate an account which requires a minimum collection of information.  We only ask for email addresses of users that wish to participate in contests, emails and/or e-newsletter receipts. When activating an account, we ask you to create a username and password.  Passwords for usernames are for the creation and management of their characters and recording and tracking their activities.  You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password and your account information. 
Composers.ca currently does not disclose to third parties personally identifiable information provided, except from time to time, we may transfer, disclose or share such information with third parties who may be engaged by us specifically to handle and deliver certain online activities (e.g. conducting contests and sweepstakes). Such third parties have access to personal information needed to perform their functions, but may not use it for other purposes. Additionally, in the event that all or substantially all of the assets relating to composers.ca are transferred or sold to another entity, personally identifiable information submitted to us may be transferred to the acquiring entity. Finally, we may also disclose personally identifiable information to third parties in order to comply with law or requests by law enforcement agencies, enforce contest, sweepstakes, promotions, and/or game rules; to enforce our Terms and Conditions of Use or to protect the rights, property or safety and security of our website, users of our website and others.

Non-Personally Identifiable Information

We may collect non-personally identifiable information (Non-PII) such as your IP address, your domain name and browser used to access the internet,  to deliver services or information, provide notices, and track usage (such as time and date of visit, pages visited, time spent on our website, and address of the website visited immediately prior to visiting composers.ca).    We may also use cookies - which are small test files stored in your browser to store your preferences, verify your authority to use the site and generally improved the content and functionality of our site. Cookies are information files that your web browser places on the hard drive of your computer when you visit a website. Cookies cannot damage user files, nor can they read information from a user's hard drive. Cookies allow websites to "remember" users activities on a website as well as users visits to a site. At composers.ca, cookies are used to determine the number of unique visitors to our website over a given period. We do not store any personal information or passwords into cookies nor do we link or combine information collected through cookies to any personal information that members submit online when participating in our activities. You can, of course, disable cookies on your computer by indicating this in the preferences or options menus in your browser.

Security

At composers.ca, the security and confidentiality of your information is extremely important to us.  To protect member information from unauthorized access and improper use, we have implemented technical and administrative security measures. We do review our security procedures every so often in order to consider new technology and appropriate methods. Be advised, however, that despite our best efforts, no security measures are impenetrable or perfect.

Composers.ca provides links to other websites that may have their own information collection practices. These other websites are governed by their own privacy policies or information collection practices, which may be substantially different from ours.  Please keep in mind that by clicking on an advertisement on Composers.ca and linking to a third party's Web site, our Privacy Policy will not apply to your personally identifiable information collected on that third party's Web site. We encourage visitors to other websites to review the privacy policies and information collection practices of those websites.

Contests and Sweepstakes

Composers.ca occasionally offers contests and sweepstakes, which may be entered online. To participate in a contest or sweepstakes, visitors are asked to register.  E-mail addresses are used to notify winners of the sweepstakes or contest. Should the winner be a child, their parent or guardian will be required to return a completed prize acceptance form within a designated time period.  Parents have the option at any time to have the child's entry deleted.

Our website may offer a message board, or social community environment, for both parents and children.  Members may provide us with user submissions.  Our community pages are regularly monitored to ensure content is appropriate and no personal or identifiable information is provided.  However, if you provide personal information when you use any of these features, that personal information may be publicly posted and otherwise disclosed without limitation as to its use by a third party.

Composers.ca also provides visitors the opportunity to send us e-mails.  You may contact us at info@Composers.ca.  All information collected is used only to respond to e-mail questions and/or requests.    If the question is regarding your membership, please include information in the e-mail that will help us identify your account. 
To change or access you the contact information you submitted during registration, please go to our member link.  You may unsubscribe from our newsletters and updates by clicking on unsubscribe links in those e-mails.
